Data Driven Design

Honor needed to deliver more personalized care, lower operational costs, and define new measures of quality—all while keeping the human experience front and center.

The tension was clear: balance scientific rigor, business needs, and user clarity without compromising any one of them.

Three Recipe Designs

Project Story

I introduced Strategy Spikes—focused workshops designed to surface valuable solutions quickly. By structuring sessions with cross-functional partners in Data Science, Product, and Design, we generated ideas that simply wouldn’t have emerged in silos.

  • Personalized Care Plans: We discovered that with just 4–10 targeted questions, we could generate tailored care plans for prospective clients. This streamlined approach unlocked predictive modeling opportunities and sparked richer conversations about health outcomes.

  • Measuring Preparedness: At a three-day offsite, an exercise revealed “Care Pro Preparedness” as a proxy for Care Quality—an unexpected but powerful new metric.

  • Operational Wins: By pairing designers and data scientists on low-hanging problems, we uncovered optimizations that cut manual work and sped up time-to-care.

Along the way, we tackled key challenges: Should assessments be modular or taken in one sitting? Should results be framed as pillars or outcomes? Should care plans be prescribed or chosen by users? Testing consistently revealed the same theme: users valued flexibility, clarity, and choice.

Our Impact

The Strategy Spikes not only generated breakthrough ideas but also reshaped Honor’s approach to care. Personalized Care Plans streamlined the intake process and opened the door to predictive modeling, while Care Pro Preparedness introduced a new, scalable way to measure quality. Cross-functional collaboration uncovered operational efficiencies that reduced manual work and accelerated time-to-care. Together, these outcomes shaped the Product Roadmap and research agenda, reframing personalization, measurement, and optimization in ways that balanced scientific rigor with what clients and families found most valuable.

Project Stats

  • 30% faster time-to-care through cross-functional optimizations

  • 4–10 questions enabled creation of personalized Care Plans for prospective clients

  • 3 new roadmap initiatives directly sourced from Strategy Spikes workshops
