Wellness Wins

At WW, we recognize that certain behaviors are strongly correlated with member success—such as tracking food, monitoring weight, and attending workshops.

The challenge was finding ways to support members in building these habits consistently over time.

Project Story

We introduced Wins, a framework that rewarded members for completing these key tasks. The system balanced extrinsic rewards (badges, milestones, tangible recognition) with intrinsic rewards (a sense of pride, identity, and progress on their wellness journey). By reinforcing positive behaviors in multiple ways, we created both immediate motivation and a longer-term connection to healthy habits.

My Contributions

  • Helped frame the strategy linking behaviors (food tracking, weight tracking, workshop attendance) to retention and success

  • Shaped the Wins experience to balance extrinsic (badges, milestones) and intrinsic (pride, identity) rewards

  • Advocated for clear behavioral metrics so members could track their own progress

  • Partnered cross-functionally to integrate Wins seamlessly into the app and member journey

  • Supported design and testing to ensure rewards felt motivating rather than transactional

Our Impact

Wins became more than just a reward system—it was a behavior-change tool, helping members stay engaged with the program while celebrating progress in ways that felt meaningful.

Project Stats

  • 3 key behaviors incentivized (food tracking, weight tracking, workshops)

  • 2 types of rewards (extrinsic + intrinsic) built into the system

  • X% increase in retention (placeholder—swap in if you have actual numbers)
